Kerry Crusaders CC was formed in 2012 and is based in north Kerry with over 60 members at present. We are a leisure cycling club who participate in numerous sportives and charity cycles throughout the year. For our own sportive the “Scenic Challenge”, this year we had international charity “Orbis” as our benefactor. The other main target for us each year is the Ring of Kerry charity cycle which raises over 1.5million for local charities, in which the club had over 50 cyclists participating.
This year being inspired by the Ring Of Kerry charity cycle we have decided to take on a four day charity cycle of our own. From the 20th to the 23rd of August we are going to cycle from Malin Head to Mizen Head ,the most northerly and southerly points in the country. Cycling an average of 155km a day this will be a very challenging but ultimately hugely rewarding cycle as the charities we have nominated are very close to our members hearts. The charities that we will be raising monies for are (1) The Jack and Jill Foundation, (2) The Irish Red Cross, (3) Listowel Hospice, all very worthy causes I’m sure you will agree.
As this is a charity cycle we are looking for donations, any amount whatsoever, for these great charities. Your support would be greatly appreciated. All monies raised will go directly to these charities. If you would like to sponsor us you can donate to our charity page; www.mycharity.ie/event/kerry_crusaderscc_event. If you need any more information please contact us on the above email or phone number.
Yours sincerely,
Alfred McDonnell, Chairman KCCC
William Keane, Secretary KCCC.
